Daniel Cabrera
He was born in September 1976 in Rengo, VI Region, Chile.
During his childhood, he lived in the small town of Malloa, near Rengo, where he learned how to enjoy the nature details, like smells in winter, wind in Spring, the smell of the first rain of the year and the sound of silence. At the age of 16 he bought his first camera and since then he has patiently followed the way of photography, first portraying country life and landscapes, and then registering the seconds of light that Chile has given him during his vacations.
Since 2003 he has oriented his photographic work to his project called “Retrato de Chile” (In English: “Portrait of Chile”), where he tries to capture images of places, people and landscapes in order to describe Chilean physical and cultural geography, to obtain a fusion of poetry, music and images that will be shown on this site and in an itinerary presentation around the country.
During this last year he began doing high- mountain photography, using the great routes the Andes mountains offer and its countless landscapes. On this last stage he is focusing on some of his near future goals and on doing so he wants to improve his techniques of photography in extreme conditions.
